What this screen does
A CRUD is one entity's list, detail, create and edit screens. The CRUDs tab lists every entity on the left and, for the one you select, every field as a row: its type, its control and its schema tags (required, unique, default). List, View and Edit are one switch per row, and Hidden is an eye. Untouched, each shows what the generator would do by itself; a dot marks a value you set.
Typical workflow
- Pick a CRUD in the menu. The line under each name counts the fields in the list, on the detail page and in the form.
- Switch List off for columns that crowd the table; switch it on for one the generator left out. More than six columns is wide, and the peek panel shows the rest.
- Click the eye in Hidden for a column nobody should see. A required field with no default cannot be hidden or left out of the form — give it a default first, by clicking its name.
- Click a field name to set its default value, its picklist, the control it renders as (a text area instead of a line, yes/no buttons instead of a switch — only what the field's type allows is offered) and the label, hint and placeholder its control shows. The Control column changes the control in place when the field's type offers a choice — the same choices as the field's settings.
- Drag a row (or press Alt+↑/↓) to order the form, the detail page and the list columns at once. The order applies inside each form section.
- Set the CRUD's title field (how a record is named in pickers and links), its default sort and its search fields, and switch on CSV export and import if the list needs them — in the Record, Search box and CSV cards above the table.
- Save. Regenerating the code picks the settings up; a re-seed of the diagram keeps them for every field that keeps its name.
Examples & tips
- Keys: ↑/↓ move between rows, L, V, E and H toggle List, View, Edit and Hidden, Enter opens the field.
- The List, Form and Detail types beside the name are set on the Screen Map; the tab only shows them.
- A finding appears in a yellow box above the table when the generator cannot obey a setting as written — a default that is not one of the options, a sort by a column that no longer exists. The generator takes the safe path and says so after generation too.
- Reset to derived clears every setting of the CRUD; Reset order clears the row order alone.
- System columns (id and the timestamps) sit in their own section you can fold away; child tabs sit in theirs.
